Jay Mohr and Martin Stogniew Join Zelos Therapeutics to Develop Exciting New Osteoporosis Drug, Ostabolin-C

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. and OTTAWA — May 18, 2006

Zelos Therapeutics Inc. today announced two executive appointments that will strengthen the Company’s management team as the Company progresses to a new stage in its development.  Joseph S. "Jay" Mohr joins the company as Chief Business Officer and Martin Stogniew, Ph.D. joins the company as Executive Vice President of Development.

“Jay and Marty bring to Zelos a wealth of pharmaceutical development experience and entrepreneurial expertise in building successful biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies,” commented Brian MacDonald, MB, ChB, Ph.D, Chief Executive Officer of Zelos. “Zelos is now well positioned to make a significant impact on the treatment of osteoporosis and other bone disorders. Our Phase II parathyroid hormone (PTH) analogue, Ostabolin-C™, has the potential to become a leading osteoporosis therapeutic and we now have the right team in place to bring this to fruition”.

Jay Mohr has over 15 years of pharmaceutical business development and commercialization expertise.  Most recently, Mr. Mohr was President, CEO and co-founder of Gloucester Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a development-stage cancer therapeutics company. Mr. Mohr served as President and Chief Business Officer at Variagenics, Inc. where he helped to close the company's $56 million merger with Hyseq Pharmaceuticals to form public company Nuvelo Inc. He joined Variagenics in 2001 as Vice-President, Business Development and Marketing, where he completed the company's first multi-year cancer pharmacogenetics collaboration with Novartis Pharmaceuticals.  Previously, Mr. Mohr held senior commercialization and marketing roles at Serono, Inc., Schering-Plough Corporation and Marketing Corporation of America.  Mr. Mohr received his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Zelos, Martin Stogniew, Ph.D. was Executive Vice President, Scientific Affairs at Vicuron Pharmaceuticals, an antibiotic development company that was acquired by Pfizer for $1.9 billion in late 2005. Prior to Vicuron, Dr. Stogniew served as Chief Scientific Officer at Next Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a nutraceutical company and as Vice President, Pharmaceutical Sciences at MedImmune, Inc. Dr. Stogniew holds a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry and a B.S., Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland.
